Duval County to Conduct First Fully Remote Civil Jury Trial

The Fourth Judicial Circuit announce that Duval County will be conducting the first fully remote civil jury trial in the State of Florida.

The Fourth Judicial Circuit announce that Duval County will be conducting the first fully remote civil jury trial in the State of Florida. The trial, also believed to be the first fully remote trial with a binding verdict in the United States, is a result of the Fourth Judicial Circuit being chosen by the Florida Supreme Court to serve as one of five remote civil trial pilot projects throughout the State. This historic remote trial will begin with jury selection on August 6, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. with the trial itself taking place on August 10, 2020, beginning at 9 a.m. The entire trial, from jury selection through final verdict, will be conducted remotely utilizing the Zoom application.
