Judge Michelle Kalil hosted a Girl Scouts Day at the Duval County Courthouse on Friday, October 23, 2026. The day began with a panel discussion which included State Attorney Melissa Nelson, Chief Legal officer for the Jacksonville Jaguars Megha Parekh, and local attorneys Darcy Galnor and Christen Luikart. The group was incredibly engaged throughout that process. The group also received a behind the scenes tour of the courthouse, learned how the court operates, and ended the day with a mock trial in which they all played various roles. It was an educational experience for the group with the added benefit of earning various badges for civic awareness. Judge Kalil plans to make this an annual event for the Girl Scouts.
